Checking active and recent consultations can be really helpful in knowing what changes to legal requirements might be seen in the near future and also give you the opportunity to provide views and feedback on proposals.
Consultations in the Legislation Update Service
EHS consultations are added to LUS every week and are included in the monthly updates emails sent to subscribers. We include consultations from a wide variety of sources including governments, agencies and the European Commission.

Below is a selection of recent consultations we’ve added to the Legislation Update Service (LUS) that may be of interest.
Environment
- Energy efficiency – ecodesign and EU energy labelling requirements for refrigerating appliances – The European Commission is seeking views on updates to the energy labelling and ecodesign rules for commercial refrigerating appliances.
- Updating the minimum emission standard for new road vehicles – The Department for Transport is seeking views on whether to implement the EU’s Euro 7 emission standard for cars, vans, trucks, buses and coaches in Great Britain.
- Consultation on potential amendments to the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Regulation 2026 – The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is seeking views on a number of proposed changes, including 5 new additions to the list of substances that are prohibited from manufacture, use, and placing on the market in Great Britain.
- Consultation on proposals for reform to the Packaging Waste Recycling Note (PRN) system – The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is seeking views on proposed further reforms to the Packaging Waste Recycling Notes (PRNs) and Packaging Waste Export Recycling Notes (PERNs) system in the UK, following reforms in January 2026.

- Consultation on proposals for The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 – The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is proposing a number of changes to RIDDOR.
- Review of Approved Document B: Fire Safety – The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is seeking views on proposed changes to fire safety requirements for buildings in England.
- Product regulation: the UK’s new product safety framework – The Office for Product Safety and Standards and Department for Business and Trade is seeking views on an enhanced product safety framework.
- Construction Products Reform White Paper – The UK Government is consulting on a number of proposals aiming to reform the construction products regime.
