One of Newground Together’s focus areas is ‘The Community’, where they put local people at the heart of their work, building strong, long-term relationships that help people and places grow.
As part of this, Newground Together works with local partners to improve everyday life. Together, they run projects that share advice, create opportunities and help people save money.
Green Futures
Green Futures is an outdoor, drop-in programme where participants can earn free, recognised qualifications, including health and safety, food hygiene and Lantra-accredited training. Working together on community projects helps participants build communication and teamwork skills, while time spent outdoors supports their physical and mental health.
Greener Together
Greener Together is a series of workshops that run across Rossendale, Blackburn, Pendle and Calderdale, helping households cut fuel bills and make their homes more efficient through energy advice, home assessments and green cleaning tips.
One participant said: “So many useful tips, didn’t know about the eco wash cycle on my washing machine or not to leave phone charging overnight. Thank you so much Newground, very helpful.”
