Below is an example of one of the many Youth Employment case studies that come through Newground’s doors. This particular case study follows young adult Steffon and his Employment Advisor, Edward.
Upon first meeting, Steffon and Edward discussed Steffon;s goals and ambitions. Steffon was able to clearly his express that he wanted to work within the construction and property investment sector. He felt motivated by hands-on, practical environments and already had some useful experience with building and DIY tasks, with the long-term hope of becoming self-employed.
Steffon then received a range of employability support, tailored to his specific needs. He made significant progress throughout the programme, including increased interview confidence and participation in personal development training sessions. While attending a reverse-job fair, Steffon was able to secure a full time job at a local company. With his new income, he hopes to learn how to drive – an important step to accessing more construction roles in the future.
Thanks to the support of his employment advisor and own hard work, Steffon remains enthusiastic about his future and ongoing learning and development.
