Under the Assimilated Regulation 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein those who move protected species of flora and fauna in to or out of Great Britain must adhere to requirements for permits, notifications and certificates. This includes plant and animal species threatened by extinction, or which may disrupt native species.
Amendment
The list of protected species of flora and fauna subject to controls for movement into or out of Great Britain is updated.
