Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases

The use of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) requires monitoring and control, preventing the release of gases such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), which contribute to global warming.

Amendment

Stationary chillers with a rated capacity of up to and including 12 kW containing, or whose functioning relies upon, fluorinated greenhouse gases with a GWP of 150 or more used for drying compressed air are exempt from the prohibition that comes into force on 1st January 2027.
