Air Pollution Act 1987 (Solid Fuels) (Amendment) Regulations 2026
Mini Summary
Air Pollution Act 1987 (Solid Fuels) Regulations 2022
Amendment
Compliance requirements for solid fuels are adjusted due to the potential unavailability of accredited smoke emission testing.
Where testing is unavailable, compliance is deemed to be satisfied:
- for existing solid fuels that were previously approved from 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026 for the period from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2027; and
- for new solid fuel products that have a volatile matter* content of 14% or less by weight on a dry ash-free basis.
*Volatile matter is the portion of a fuel that turns into gases when heated, excluding water content.
