Toni, from Colne, sought employment assistance from Newground Together after being encouraged by her daughter, who had previously received help and successfully passed three courses. Her daughter’s positive experience inspired Toni to take the next steps in her employment journey.
Toni praised the safe space created by Newground, and acknowledged that although people come from different situations, everyone who seeks support is there to achieve the same goal, creating an environment where everyone feels welcome.
With Newground’s help, Toni was successful in securing a job, which she believes has made her the person she is today. Toni is now in a position where she looks forward to going to work – she is working longer shifts and welcomes the busy atmosphere during the holiday period where she thrives.
Now, Toni encourages people to seek the help or assistance they need, often sharing her story of how straightforward Newground made her journey, and how they helped her to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
