Module 1
We’ll start to build a foundation of knowledge about waste, exploring what waste is covered by a duty of care, why you need to comply, and the key steps to compliance.
We will cover the following topics:
- What is waste duty of care?
- What the 5 key steps are to comply with waste duty of care.
- Waste carriers, brokers, dealers.
- Environmental permits and waste exemptions.
- What information you need about waste contractors and how to find and check this information.
- An introduction to what waste paperwork is required.
- Understanding and implementing the waste hierarchy.
Module 2
In Module 2 we’ll take a deeper dive into waste paperwork to ensure you understand all of the requirements and how the paperwork should be completed.
Module 2 will cover:
- What is the difference between hazardous and non-hazardous waste?
- The requirements regarding waste documentation.
- How to complete a waste transfer note.
- How to complete a hazardous waste consignment note.
- How to identify the correct European Waste Catalogue (EWC) codes to use on your organisation’s waste documentation.
Please note, due to the differences in waste legislation across the different jurisdictions in the UK, this course currently focuses on those that apply in England. If you are interested in courses for other jurisdictions, please let us know.
