Correct! The UK was the first major economy to commit to a target of reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. In addition to this target, Scotland has gone a step further and aims for net zero by 2045.

Net zero means the total greenhouse gas emissions would be equal to the emissions removed from the atmosphere, with the aim of limiting global warming and resultant climate change.
