The purpose of risk assessment is to help employers determine what measures should be taken to comply with legislative requirements. This virtual workshop will give delegates valuable insight and guidance into the application of these legal requirements in the workplace.
This course is delivered live in real time video through Microsoft Teams, by an experienced health and safety consultant, with interactive exercises involving people from other organisations as you develop a risk assessment from start to finish.
Module 1
In Module 1, we will look the foundations around risk assessment, identifying why risk assessment is a requirement from legal and other standpoints. We will also identify key terms and look at the key steps involved in carrying out a risk assessment.
This module will cover the following topics:
- The reasons for carrying out risk assessment
- Key definitions and terms associated with risk assessment
- The basic methodology for carrying out risk assessment
- Introduce an example risk assessment template
Module 2
Building on the foundations of risk assessment from the first module, Module 2 will allow delegates to progress with working through the method of carrying out risk assessment from a practical viewpoint.
We will cover the following topics:
- Continue with progressing the methodology of risk assessment
- Explore the importance of control measures and hierarchy of risk controls
- Importance of communication and monitoring of risk assessments
Please be aware this course is completed over two days, with the date below being module 1 of your training. Please see below for the list of course dates. You will be automatically booked onto the module 2 course date, which is the closest date after your first session. For example, if your first module is on 13.10.21, your second module will be 14.10.21. We find this is best for continuity purposes.
